I was born in 1980 in Stockport, England. I have two brothers, and two parents, and have lived with an assortment of cats and musical instruments. I started having piano lessons when I was about 7, probably. Didn't enjoy it very much, my piano teacher's alarm would go off halfway through every lesson, I never did find out what it was for. Bit off-putting. But despite this, I carried on playing piano having discovered that I actually enjoyed it rather a lot, and eventually gave up having lessons and taking exams by the end of Grade 5. I was also singing at school, being in the coveted "seconds", and haven't stopped since. I auditioned for and was accepted into the Halle Choir in September 2004, singing with the 2nd Altos until the following summer. I can't remember when I decided I liked painting and art generally, but managed to take it for GCSE and A-Level, and haven't been put off by less-than-amazing grades each time. By the time I was taking my A-levels, I had a steady boyfriend (Steve) who was doing amazing things with my insecurities and various depressions, and consequently once my exams were finished we got married in November 2000. We both felt God was telling us to live in Wythenshawe, and bought a lovely little mid-terrace house in Benchill, Wythenshawe, which we left in somebody's very caring and capable hands between July 2005 and July 2006. Why? Well Steve, being a second year University student doing Acoustics at Salford, managed to get a placement with Genelec, who make speakers, and who are based in Finland. So, we spent a year there, Steve working, and me being spoiled as a housewife (which had been my ambition (that and kids) since getting married).
